Lightning Rods Single Stage Big Block

Lightning Rods Single Stage Big Block is where I'm heading ASAP!

Forget about Cyclone motors! They dropped the ball a long time ago and don't care enough to pick it up!

Forget about all other projects! Forget about Cyclone kits, forget about BBSHD, BBSO2, everything else! I may still do a few other bikes to sell like the 2wd 2000w Mongoose fat tire bike, and another 1500w rear hub bike just because I already have the motor. The point I'm making is that I think I've found the perfect motor for my personal bikes. Anything else I do will be to put on the bike store floor for sale at Beachbikes here in Torrance, Ca.

So I'm ordering one of these motors as soon as I can come up with the cash! Then I'll have to build a 72v battery pack to power the beast! Just the cells will cost around $1200, so this won't be happening over night! 200 cells at around $6 each for a 20s10p pack. That should be PLENTY of power to get me where I'm going FAST!

The motor is just under $700 without controller. Lightning Rods is talking about having a new controller ready for the motor real soon, and I figure that will be another $300 bucks. I could use a different cheaper controller, but I like the one they will have. This is going to be set up to do 60+mph!

Yeah, I'm excited about building this one! Actually I'm planning on building two of them. Out of practicality the first one will be a full suspension MTB. I'm about to buy a MTB to swap my old BBSHD onto. I'll still do that until I have all the parts to put the LR/SS/BB together. In the meantime I'll change the parts on the MTB that need changing to make it a good bike. Then I'll put the BBSHD on my girlfriends bike. I was going to get a remote controller and do a 72v battery for the BBSHD, and I may still do that one day so my GF can keep up with me.

Hyper 29" Hydroform. Needs better forks, rear shock, derailleur and rear freewheel with taller gears as well as better wheels. Other than that, it's a $200 bike. With the upgrades, it rides like a $1000 bike. Sweet project for either the under powered BBSHD or the Lightning Rods SS Big Block! And it needs a set of ebike hydraulic brakes! I will build 40mph bikes with rim breaks, but when I get into the 50-60mph range, I have no excuses not to upgrade to hydraulic! That would be a crazy accident waiting to happen! Did I mention how excited I am about this project yet?

The second bike I'll build for this motor will be a Mongoose Malus Fat Tire bike. I think that between these two bikes, I won't feel the need for another personal bike. Except maybe for a beach cruiser. Specifically, the one I've been setting up for my 3000w Cyclone project.

Mongoose Malus Fat Tire bike. Upgrades will include hydraulic breaks, larger rotors, a better seat, and a one speed freewheel sprocket. No need for gears with this much power! Eventually it may also get a Rock Shock set of forks.

If anyone wants to buy my two Cyclone motors (2000w and 3000w) let me know. They have never been used, and are not something I want anymore. I'll give you a deal one them so I can help myself afford what I need to get the first Lightning rods bikes going.
