It's About E Time!

It's about time I started building ebikes! 

I've been too busy selling regular bikes to get started, but now that I have no more room to store more bikes, It'll be less time consuming. I have about 40 bikes to choose from at the moment for my first ebike project. 

I'm thinking this will be the first to go electric. It's a Firmstrong Men's Urban 7 speed. The three speed bikes are great, but for long range, it's hard to beat a 7 speed!

FOR SALE Sixthreezero Explore Your Range Women's 7-Speed Hybrid Commuter Bicycle $200.

Seat height is 31". Stand over height is irrelevant with this down swept classic styled lightweight aluminum frame.

To figure size, measure your inseam with your riding shoes, and your feet flat on the floor, then add 1" for women under 5' 5", and 1 1/2" for women above 5' 5" tall to fit this seat height. The seat should be just a little higher than your inseam measurement. Like you're wearing a medium height high heel shoe. The front of your feet should be flat, but the heel should be up in the air for a perfect riding fit. If only your toes touch the ground with this minimum seat height, then a bike with a shorter seat height would be more appropriate.

I will tailor these bikes to fit perfect for every customer. Seat up or down, front or back, headset and bars up or down, etc. Nobody should go home with a new bike that don't fit!

This is a brand new out of box bike! I rode it home from the bike shop just to check it out, but otherwise, it's never been ridden.

The CA-520 3 speed is a three speed cruiser bike, which has an internal gear system located inside the rear wheel. This gear system has only one cable that runs from the handlebar shifter to the rear wheel.  The cable is neatly tucked under the frame to keep the bike looking clean.  It is simple and easy to use and will require little to no maintenance at all.  The shifter is located by the right handlebar grip and the rider simply twists the grip to change speeds.  Internal 3 speed bikes can function properly for many years without ever doing any maintenance at all.  Riding up hills with the CA-520 3 Speed Bike won’t pose any problems; the different speeds will give you varying degrees of resistance to make the uphill climb easier.
The riding position of this bike keeps the rider's back in a straight upright position. In addition, the pedals are shifted forward to allow riders to be closer to the ground while still getting great leg extension. This is a great men's bicycle for cruising, commuting or exercising.

Duke's Moto Electric Update #5

Quite a few things have changed since my last update.

I finally picked up a new computer! Now if I can only find time to add all my passwords and set up my accounts, etc.

I've set up every Sunday as a bike sale day. I was going nuts trying to keep up with things before I did this because I never knew when I would be getting home from work. I half expect to find people camping out in front of my garage waiting for first crack at the bikes I have for sale today. The prices are Crazy low!!!

Days off work to relax in the past 4 weeks. Zero! I'm going to have to take a couple days off next week. I was up till 2am last night posting bikes for sale on Craigslist, then up early to get the bikes ready. This is going to be a long day!

Sixthreezero In The Barrel 3 Speed, Matte Black

This bike may not be available this Sunday. It takes a set of forks with a slightly longer neck than the new one I picked up to replace the damaged one. I may have to order. I'll probably upgrade it as well while I'm at it. The price of the bike will reflect the upgraded front end with no parts markup. Anybody want a suspension front end with brake? I think this is where I'm going with this one! I may not want to sell it when I'm done with the upgrade! I may want to keep it as a prototype for electric bike when I'm done.

I know why they go for so much more everywhere else. I've had one for a year now, and it's built like a bad ass flat black tank! I've customized mine with front suspension, rim brakes, and three speed Nexus internal geared hub. For $100 you get a bad ass bike that is fully set up to be customized! It even has fender mounts!

This is a brand new bike, fresh out of the box it was shipped in, never ridden at less than half the price of retail! It had some scratches on the beach bars from shipping, but I can repaint for free, or pick up a new set at cost. Just a good magic marker would cover the packaging rub spots on the bars. Personally I think a set of black mini ape bars would be better on this bike anyway. Your choice.

The 26 x 1.25 Kenda balloon tires give a very comfortable ride quality.

The Stainless Steel Spokes will never rust under their tough powder coat finish.

If the flat black paint ever gets scratched, it's a simple fix with a couple squirts from a spray can.

The seat is sprung for an even more comfortable ride! They do squeak for the first few miles, so I spray a little silicone lube on the contact points where it all bolts together for a silent ride.

This is a nice brand new bike! Don't let it get away!

Just like the photo, it's flat black with lime green rims! I don't know what it is about those rims, but people like them enough to comment.

I only sell bikes on Sunday for now. It's the only day I have off from working at the bike shop.

First 20 New Bikes Feeling?

Anybody start their bike or ebike business remember how it felt to have their first 20 brand new bikes to sell? Anyway, that's the feeling I have right now. Pretty cool, but I'm too tired to completely enjoy it. I think it's a milestone moment. It's like having a real bike shop! I'll get a chance to enjoy it if I ever get a day off.

I don't know if I could fit much more inventory in my garage based business, so I think this will be the standard for now, at least for the rest of this riding season. I will have to find room to put a pallet stacked with 10 bikes at a time for next season in addition to 10 or 20 assembled bikes.

I plan on having my own bikes shipped in by next year ten at a time. That's the minimum order amount I could find anywhere for anything I want to build and sell as an ebike.
 
I want to order beach cruisers with 26 x 2.25" wheels with disk brakes for ebike conversion.
I would also order fat tire beach cruisers, and mountain bikes. The carbon bike plans are still in the future, although I'm planning on testing a carbon fiber mountain bike for ebike conversion as soon as I can get one. 

It's almost 8pm and I have a tone of work to do for tomorrows bike sale. I think I'll take the night off from wrenching on bikes and just post stuff over to craigslist for the rest of the night.

What A Long Day. I'm Tired! Picked Up 5 Bikes Today!

All the bikes have a light weight and rust free aluminum frame.

I didn't pick up the "In The Barrel" like I wanted to. I need to haggle over price more first. Instead I picked up a CA-520 with Nexus 3 speed internal geared hub in flat black. It needs a new kick stand, and seat post, with a flat black paint job. This is a new old bike that I think came with a bad kickstand and seat post. It's not a simple replacement to change the kickstand. This will go for $185. This bike sells for $285 from manufacturer. I'll have to order the seat post, so this one may not be available for another week.

I did get the Women's  "Ride in the Park" 7sp Touring City Bike like I said I would.  It's a real nice bike! I can fix shipping damage to fenders or remove them and sell it like it is for $150. I'll sell it for $200 with fenders. This is a $400 bike!

As a rare bike, I picked up an earlier discontinued model of the ride in the park 7 speed that had been sitting in the back of the warehouse for who knows how long. It's a real nice bike! I think it was a return due to fender damage because the front fender is missing. I'll clean it up and either sell it like it is for $150, or give it to a friend who really liked it. This bike is in great condition! These sold new for $400!

I also picked up a Sixthreezero "Explore Your Range" Women's 7sp Commuter Hybrid Bike! This is such a nice bike! This is a serious commuter bike if that is what you need! It will fly out the door at $200 as soon as I post the add! It's in new out of the box condition. This bike goes for $370 from manufacturer.

Last but not least is a Sixthreezero "EVRYjourney" 26-Inch 7-Speed Hybrid Cruiser Bicycle. It needs a paint job from shipping scratches, and new fenders for the same reason. I'll offer it with new paint for $200 with the new fenders I just picked up. This is a $400 bike from manufacturer!

I have a new camera, and will start adding original photo's to my posts. I would also like to do repair photo's to the work I'm doing to these bikes. Before and after as well as a step by step to the process. The way I see it, even at the best prices for new or like new bikes, customers deserve to know what they're buying. The photo's will show nothing but quality workmanship to make the bikes better than new from the factory. Talk is cheap, photo's say it all without question!
